Q&A – Why do parts of my 20-year-old Rhododendron die every year?
Question:
Why do parts of my 20-year-old Rhododendron die every year?
Answer:
Rhododendrons do not do well in the Memphis area because of the soils and summer heat. University of Memphis Director of Landscape Joellen Dimond says if the plants are growing in this area the annual dieback is not unexpected and you should just prune it out. Rhododendrons do better in mountainous areas.
