Q&A - Peony Blooms Dropping

Question:
I want to know why my peony blooms opened so big and beautiful then dropped their petals within twenty-four hours.

Answer:
If it rains when peony blooms start to swell the water will get into the flower and start to deteriorate the base of the flower. The flower will then fall off shortly after bloom. Also be careful to avoid overhead watering at this stage of development.
