Q&A - What is the Webbing in my Cherry Tree?

I have webbing with worms in them in the center of my ornamental cherry tree. What are they? And should I be concerned about them killing my tree?
Answer:
The eastern tent caterpillar builds tight webs toward the center of the tree in limb crotches. There are several ways to control these caterpillars. Insecticides can not penetrate the web. B.T. works well.
