Q&A - The back of my camellia leaves have bugs on them. What are they and how do I get rid of the bugs?
Question:
The back of my camellia leaves have bugs on them. What are they and how do I get rid of the bugs?
Answer:
These bugs on the back of camellia leaves are camellia scale. Camillias almost always have some scale on them by the base of the plant which is nothing to worry about. If the scale starts to move up the plant then it is time to treat. Oil sprays will smother and kill the scale. You can also use a systemic insecticide like Imidacloprid or Acephate.
