Tropical Plants for the Landscape

Tropical plants love the heat and provide garden color in the middle of summer. University of Memphis Director of Landscape Joellen Dimond shows different tropical plants that are commonly used. She starts with tropical foliage plants including elephant ear, ginger, palm trees, Hawaiian ti plant, banana, dracaena, croton, and copper plant. She talks about tropical flowering plants including hibiscus, mandevilla, shrimp plant, bougainvillea, and bird of paradise. Joellen also talks about growing conditions and problems these plants may have.
