Q&A - How do you get rid of English Ivy? RoundUp does not work.

Question:
How do you get rid of English Ivy? RoundUp does not work.

Answer:

English ivy has a waxy cuticle or covering that protects mature leaves from absorbing herbicides. UT Extension Agent Chris Cooper says you can either spray the ivy in the spring as it is first leafing out, or cut it down and spray new growth. University of Memphis Director of Landscape Joellen Dimond lists come chemicals you can use.
