Q&A - How do you take care of a ficus tree?

Question:
How do you take care of a ficus tree? I bought one last month and all the leaves have fallen off of it.

Answer:
Ficus trees are sensitive to changes in environment. When the environment changes the ficus trees will compensate by dropping its leaves. Also, too much or not enough watering will cause the same problem. Even having the ficus in a place where it has an air conditioning vent or other draft on it can cause the leaves to drop. Ficus trees that are purchased from the nursery will often drop their leaves when you take them home because the conditions are different.
