Q&A - Can I use Alcohol-soaked Q-tips to clean off mealybugs?

Question:
Can I use Alcohol-soaked Q-tips to clean off mealybugs?

Answer:

Yes, you can. UT Extension Agent Chris Cooper says if there is a minor infestation you can do this. Just make sure you don’t get the alcohol on the plant leaves as they might be damaged. If the infestation is large, you can use insecticidal soap or horticultural oils. He would not use systemic insecticides on indoor plants.
