Q&A - How do you get a wisteria to bloom?

Question:
How do you get a wisteria to bloom?

Answer:
Wisteria, like many other plants requires direct sun to bloom. TSU Extension Agent Joellen Dimond suggests making sure the plant has enough light, at least 4 hours a day of full sun. She also says that wisteria is an aggressive grower and frequent trimming may hinder blooming. She recommends getting a named cultivar from a nursery when it is blooming so you know it will bloom.
