Q&A – How long will an herbicide application remain effective after a rainfall?

Question:
How long will an herbicide application remain effective after a rainfall?

Answer:

The label will tell you how long it needs to sit on the plant before rain to be effective. University of Memphis Director of Landscape Joellen Dimond says the key is the herbicide needs time to dry. Then it has been absorbed by the plant. Retired MSU Extension Horticulture Specialist Lelia Kelly gives some additional tips.
