Peppers like hot weather, but they do not like dry soil. University of Memphis Director of Landscape Joellen Dimond says peppers like even moisture. Peppers do not like wet soil. On the other hand, if they don’t get enough water, they will not set fruit or immature fruits may drop off the plant.
