Q&A – My Photinia shrub has leaves rolling and falling off. What is it?
Question:
My Photinia shrub has leaves rolling and falling off. What is it?
Answer:
This is probably herbicide damage. UT Extension Agent Chris Cooper says rolling leaves are the key to the diagnosis. Photinias are susceptible to several leaf diseases that may cause the leaves to fall off, but none of them would cause the leaves to roll. Joellen Dimond, Director of Landscape at the University of Memphis, says you should look into what herbicides you and your neighbors are using on your lawns. Some of these can be harmful to Photinias.
