Q&A – What is this plant? A: Triangle Cactus

Question:
What is this plant? A: Triangle Cactus

Answer:
This is Acanthocereus tetragonus, commonly known as triangle cactus. Joellen Dimond, Director of Landscape at the University of Memphis, says looking at the brown spots in the picture the plant is probably being overwatered. Triangle cactuses prefer drier conditions. Joellen recommends adding sand to the potting mix. The plant also likes being in full sun. When they bloom they are good plants for pollinators.
