Q&A – Why are my redbud’s leaves turning yellow like this?
Question:
Why are my redbud’s leaves turning yellow like this?
Answer:
This is probably an iron deficiency. UT Extension Agent Celeste Scott says this happens when the plant can not get iron from the soil either due to the wrong soil pH or more likely in this case, the wrong kind of soil. This plant is growing in sandy soil on an island and water probably washes away any available iron before the plant can take it up. UT Assistant Professor of Residential and Consumer Horticulture Natalie Bumgarner recommends trying to grow the plant in a large container with soil that is more suitable.
