Q&A – Why is my pear tree not blooming?

Question:
Why is my pear tree not blooming?

Answer:

There are several reasons this could be happening. Retired UT Extension Agent Mike Dennison talks about some of the things that could be preventing it from blooming including: the tree is growing in the incorrect region where it is not getting enough or too many chill hours, it may be getting too much fertilizer, or the tree may not be old enough to bloom.
