This Week In the Garden
Applying Insecticides to Prevent Squash Vine Borer

This week in the garden Peter Richards shows how to apply an insecticide to prevent squash vine borers from attacking squash plants. He applies a bifenthrin, zeta-cypermethrin mix to the first few feet of the vine. He does not apply insecticide to the leaves or flowers. Applying insecticide in the evening is best because pollinating insects are not present, and the flowers are closed.
