Q&A – What are these egg clusters on my porch and ceiling fans?
Question:
What are these egg clusters on my porch and ceiling fans?
Answer:
These are eggs from the fall armyworm. UT Extension Agent Chris Cooper says female fall armyworm moths like to lay their eggs on light colored surfaces, including the trim around your porch. You can remove them by power washing with soap. Army worms love Bermuda grass and if they hatch, they will move to your lawn looking for food. Chris gives some chemical options to control them if they are on your lawn.
