Yesterday we planted a whole bunch of seeds and one transplant, a cauliflower. I have updated the garden status on the right to show what we did. Today the peas have sprouted and the onions are starting to grow. It has been very wet lately and it looks like some of the onions are sitting a little higher then when we planted them. This won't be a problem. The soil is just settling because this is the first heavy rain since we turned it over. It is about time to plant more spring vegetables.
Today we laid out the Family Plot square foot garden. Chris and Peter layed out the squares with twine and garden staples. They also put up the leaning trellis and planted onions and peas according to this year's garden plan. Both onions and peas are planted 9 to a square in a grid. You want to leave some space around the edge of the square so the plants in the neighboring squares have space. Here is the video:
